Walsenburg Small Business COVID-19 Relief Program

The City of Walsenburg understand the challenges faced by small businesses in our community.  With that in mind, the City has established the Walsenburg Small Business COVID-19 Relief Program funded with CARES Act funding provided through the Colorado Department of Local Affairs.  Through this program, the City will provide up to $ 2,000.00 of funding to businesses that meet the following criteria.

  • Must be a non-home-based business in the City of Walsenburg that has a physical location in the City.
  • Eligible businesses must have fewer than 25 employees;
  • Eligible businesses must hold current City of Walsenburg business licenses;
  • Eligible businesses must be current on all taxes payable to the City or State on the date of application;
  • Eligible businesses must be current on all City utility bills.
  • Eligible businesses must be able to show they have experienced a direct effect on the business as a result of COVID-19 occurring after March 27, 2020.
  • Any business that has received direct funding through the federal CARES Act for COVID-19 relief is not eligible for this program.
  • Businesses involved in the production and/or sale of Marijuana products are not eligible.

Applications will be reviewed within three working days of receipt.  The business will be contacted following review and notified by email whether they are eligible for the program.
