Stage 1 Water Restrictions

STAGE 1 WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS.

Irrigation of outside plants by residential and commercial customers is limited to two (2) days a week as set forth below.

Odd Numbered Addresses - Monday and Thursday
Locations without automatic sprinkler systems.
6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Locations with automatic sprinkler systems.
6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Even Numbered Addresses - Tuesday and Saturday
Locations without automatic sprinkler systems.
6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Locations with automatic sprinkler systems.
6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Planting of new sod or turf not recommended

Prohibited Acts

  • Irrigation of outside plants on days and at times other than specified above is prohibited.
  • Water that runs off property into a gutter, street, alley or onto a neighbor‚Äôs property is prohibited.
  • Use of water to clean of hard surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, fences or siding is prohibited.
  • Use of water to wash vehicles or trailers at a residence is prohibited.
  • Watering plants in containers/flower gardens by any means other than by sprinkler can is prohibited.
  • Bulk water sales by the City, excluding water hauls described below, are prohibited.
  • Open Hose Use Prohibited: Application of water to lawns, grounds, premises and vegetation shall be by sprinkler or by use of a hose with a restricted flow device installed and properly operating that automatically shuts off the flow of water where the hand of the person using the watering device is removed from the device. Use of an open-ended hose for these purposes is prohibited.

Restrictions For Specific User Categories

Recreational Fields
Football fields: Monday and Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Baseball fields: Tuesday and Friday 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

City Parks
Monday and Friday 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Golf Course
Limited to 8 acre feet per month.

Cemeteries
Saturday and Wednesday 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Maximum allowed use: 150,000 gallons per billing month.

Greenhouses and Grow Warehouses (as defined in Ordinance No. 1056)
Greenhouses and Grow Warehouses are encouraged to use all possible conservation measures including drip irrigation.
Maximum allowed use: 150,000 gallons per billing month.

Water Haul
Water for hauling is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Water will be sold for domestic cisterns and for livestock only.
  • The City will not sell and water haulers are prohibited from using hauled water for any commercial, horticultural or agricultural purpose except for livestock watering.
  • Hauling water from fire hydrants, residences or businesses is prohibited.
